Injustice Request

A complaint I have about Injustice is that all the DLC costumes and unlockable stuff seems to go to a handful of A-listers, with one or two deviations. Every character has their Regime or Insurgency alts, but then there are a handful of characters that have bonus costumes, with most of them getting left behind. As such, here are my suggestions for everybody to get another costume, even the guys who already have a ton, because hey, I’m just having fun here. Also, because I was discussing it with a friend, how about an alternate Lantern Corps outfit for every character?

Aquaman: His traditional look. Label it as classic or New 52 or whatever, but the armor he wears in the game is a bit grand for my tastes. His Flashpoint costume’s pretty close to what he usually looks like, but I’d like the normal look for him.

-Lantern Corps: Red. This is because he’s both an aggressive guy, and his wife, Mera, was a Red Lantern during Blackest Night.

Ares: His New 52 look would be amazing.

-Lantern Corps: Red. He’s the god of war. Why wouldn’t he be all about rage?

Bane: I’d like to see a costume inspired by his appearance in The Dark Knight Rises.

-Lantern Corps: Sinestro Corps. Bane utilizes fear very effectively.

Batman: Adam West.

-Lantern Corps: None. Disqualified. He’s already got his Black Lantern outfit. But if I had to pick one, I’d forgo the traditionally thought-of Sinestro Corps and go Green instead, like in Darkest Night.

Black Adam: Shazam has his New 52 look in the game, why not Black Adam?

-Lantern Corps: Sinestro Corps. Black Adam rules through fear.

Catwoman: Batman: The Animated Series look.

-Lantern Corps: Orange. You think a master thief isn’t greedy?

Cyborg: New 52 look.

-Lantern Corps: Green. It takes will to go through such a major adjustment like Cyborg has.

Deathstroke: Classic outfit.

-Lantern Corps: Indigo. The Indigo Tribe would totally recruit the compassionless assassin for indoctrination.

Doomsday: Superdoom from Grant Morrison’s Action Comics is kinda neat.

-Lantern Corps: Red. Dude’s all about anger and violence.

The Flash: Reverse Flash.

-Lantern Corps: Blue, because he was a Blue Lantern in Blackest Night.

Green Arrow: Classic look. Feathered cap, please.

-Lantern Corps: Indigo. I think it’s because the bow and arrow thing goes well with the tribal motif.

Green Lantern: I’d like to play as Hal in his bomber jacket, but still using the ring.

-Lantern Corps: White.

Harley Quinn: ORIGINAL OUTFIT. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, ORIGINAL OUTFIT.

-Lantern Corps: Star Sapphire. Love is what turned her to crime in the first place.

Hawkgirl: New 52 Earth 2 Hawkgirl. I love her design.

-Lantern Corps: Red. Hawkgirl is a warrior from a warrior race.

The Joker: Death of the Family. That would be wonderfully horrifying to see in 3D.

-Lantern Corps: Sinestro Corps. Joker is SCARY.

Killer Frost: DCAU design. I mean, they already have Jennifer Hale voicing her.

-Lantern Corps: Indigo Tribe. Like Deathstroke, she has no compassion.

Lex Luthor: Let’s go with the classic Super Friends armor.

-Lantern Corps: Orange. He was one in Blackest Night.

Nightwing: Dick Grayson’s Batman outfit. That’d be fun.

-Lantern Corps: Blue. Dick Grayson tends to inspire those around him.

Raven: This look, with actual human skin color.

-Lantern Corps: Green. Resisting her father’s power takes a lot of will.

Shazam: I’d actually like to see the Flashpoint Captain Thunder version of the character.

-Lantern Corps: Blue. Billy Batson is practically the living embodiment of hope.

Sinestro: His Green Lantern outfit.

-Lantern Corps: White.

Solomon Grundy: Earth 2 avatar of the Grey Grundy.

-Lantern Corps: Black. He actually was one for a while.

Superman: Superman Beyond.

-Lantern Corps: Blue. Big Blue’s all about hope.

Wonder Woman: Earth 3’s Superwoman.

-Lantenrn Corps: Star Sapphire. She was one in Blackest Night.

So yeah, those are just some of my thoughts.

Let’s talk Trinity War

Trinity War’s on the way, and we’ve got this bitchin’ three-part cover art showing us the covers for Justice League, JLA, and Justice League Dark. So just for fun, let’s look at all the battles going on here and analyze possible outcomes.

Dr. Light vs. Madame Xanadu: Interesting match-up, and given the nature of Xanadu’s spellcasting, probably the most fair fight on this whole cover. That said, I’d have to go with Xanadu, simply due to bias.

Element Woman vs. Catwoman: Not fair by any stretch of the imagination. Catwoman is crafty, but unlike Batman, who has a ton of gadgets that could combat chemical reactions, she has no fighting chance. Element Woman is WAY out of her weight class.

Cyborg vs. Katana: While I think Cyborg is the clear victor here (pun not intended), Katana does have speed and a magical sword on her side, so if she gets in close, it’s one hell of a fight.

Superman vs. Green Arrow and Green Lantern: Obviously Ollie has a snowball’s chance in Hell here. Simon Baz does have a much better chance, but at the end of the day, Superman is still Superman, and has both the power to beat Ollie and the experience to beat Baz.

Batman: I have no idea what he’s trying to do. Probably stop Pandora. I’m guessing it won’t work.

Wonder Woman vs. John Constantine: Constantine. Now normally I wouldn’t say this, but Constantine’s magic can totally beat Wonder Woman here. Not because he’s better than her, but because this is Wonder Woman as written by Geoff Johns, who’s just angry and punchy all the time instead of the elite warrior writers who actually understand Diana portray her as. I like Johns, but I hate how he writes Wonder Woman.

Vibe and Stargirl vs. Firestorm: This is a good matchup. I don’t think Vibe could take Firestorm on his own, because any shit he tries to do with earth, Firestorm could just transmute into cotton candy or fly away from. But both Stargirl and Vibe are pretty powerful, at least as powerful as Firestorm individually in terms of pure strength, if not just slightly below, so I think he’s going to lose this one.

Aquaman vs. Martian Manhunter vs. Deadman: I love this idea. While he’s good, Aquaman obviously doesn’t have what it takes to bring down Martian Manhunter. But I can see Deadman possessing J’onn, taking down Arthur, and then using J’onn as a weapon against the League and the JLA. That said, I’m still hoping that Deadman possessing Black Adam still happens.

The Atom: Like Batman, I have no idea what she’s trying to do with Pandora. But she’ll probably fail too.

Zatanna vs. Steve Trevor: Steve is fucked.

Constantine vs. Steve Trevor: Steve is fucked.

Frankenstein vs. Flash vs. Hawkman and Steve Trevor: I love that Frankenstein just picked the part of the battle with the most violence going on at once and jumped into it. At least that’s how I’m choosing to interpret this, because it seems like something he would do. And really, I gotta go with Frankenstein here. He’s kind of the baddest badass in the New 52. Hawkman and Flash are both worthy foes, but unlike Frankenstein, they both tire out, and in a three way fight between them all, Frankenstein’s strength, stamina, and indestructibility just seem to give him the winning edge. Also, Steve Trevor is a non-element in this, and he is fucked. Seriously. The only person he could reasonable go toe-to-toe with is Catwoman, and even that is a fight he’d lose. I’m sorry Steve, you’re good, but of all the badass normals in the DCU, you’re probably the weakest.

The Phantom Stranger vs. The Question: Not technically going on, but the two pretty much seem to be enemies, as shown in the most recent issue of the Stranger’s comic. Question won their last fight, but he had the element of surprise at the time and the Spear of Destiny on his side. I’d say that in a straight-up fight between the two, the Stranger’s magical mojo dominates, but we haven’t really seen what this new magical Question can do, so it’s still up in the air.

I really can’t wait for July now. This is gonna be awesome.

Somehow I doubt that a bachelor party thrown by the Justice League for a physics professor would be that much fun anyway.

—Justice League of America #151 (1978) by Gerry Conway & Dick Dillin, inked by Frank McLaughlin

On the one hand, I appreciate that they actually acknowledge gender inequity but…man. That hurts to read.

Somehow the idea of Hawkgirl actually having a butt is weird to me.

From this week’s Injustice: Gods Among Us Chapter 9. This video game tie-in comic has been phenomenal. Every single week has just impressed me so much. It has definitely gotten me more hyped up than the battle arena, and I totally plan to do a review of it sometime in the future. Tom Taylor and Jheremy Raapack have created a fantastic Elseworlds tale.

ive been on this earth for 18 years and 51 days to be exact, and i still can not find a cartoon movie better than space jam ♥

Ok…

Everything done by Studio Ghibli. Some choice favorites: Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky.

Everything from the Disney Renaissance and beyond. Some choice favorites: Lilo and Stitch, Aladdin, Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Princess and the Frog, all of Pixar except for the Cars movies.

All of the DC Animated movies, including stuff based on the DCAU. Some choice favorites: Superman vs. the Elite, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman/Mr. Freeze: Subzero, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Justice League Doom, Wonder Woman.

Also: Kung Fu Panda, Megamind, Despicable Me, the Rugrats movie, Pokémon 2000: The Power of One, Dragon Ball Z: Cooler’s Revenge.

There’s nothing wrong with liking Space Jam. It’s not a bad movie (at least it’s not as bad as everybody says), and hell, if it’s your favorite, I’m not going to say you’re wrong for it. Now, if Looney Tunes: Back In Action is your favorite movie, then there are serious problems.

The Justice League of Dignity

I GOT NEW TOYS.

The response came a day late, but hey, it’s still awesome I got a response at all.
Wonder Woman sounds fun. I’ll have to check out Fantom Comics or Barnes and Noble and see if they’ve got it.

I’ve reviewed the current Wonder Woman series over on CCS. Check it out!

Regarding WONDER WOMAN and SUPERMAN kissin’ in JUSTICE LEAGUE #12…

Normally I agree with your tags, regarding dopes, crazies, and the like, but I’d like to point out that Wonder Woman was originally created by a man who was in a polyamorous relationship with bisexual women. This man also believed that the ideal society would be one where women ruled, and where love was strength. Also that the Golden Age Amazons tied each other up ALL THE TIME:

Basically, the notion that Wonder Woman could be lesbian probably isn’t far off from her creator, William Moulton Marston’s, original intentions for the character. If they wanted to keep true to the character’s conception, I imagine she’d be bisexual at the very least.
Doesn’t change the fact that Wonder Woman, officially at least, has never been a lesbian, and how much of this information your valued customer was aware of is questionable, but it’s something to consider.
